This 6-hour course is designed to meet the OSHA (29 CFR 1910 146) requirements for training of persons who must enter and work in confined spaces. This course defines a confined space, explains confined space hazards and preparations for entering. This program stresses the importance of safety awareness and hazard evaluation control. Permits will be written and entries will be performed in our confined space simulator. This course meets ABC’s continuing education requirements for approved course topic criteria for water treatment, water distribution, biological, and PC.

This course is designed for an individual that has been previously certified to operate a forklift. This class includes online course study and tests, hands-on evaluation to demonstrate competency by the trainee on the forklift. This course is required every three years as a refresher certification Trainees receive a wallet card and certificate.

Programs can provide students with new skill sets or upgrade a current skill. Phlebotomy Technicians are trained to draw blood samples by venipunctures, skin puncture, and arterial collection for medical tests and blood donations. In the practice of phlebotomy, safety precautions must be taken to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases. Phlebotomy Technicians may work in hospitals, commercial laboratories, clinics, large medical offices, and blood banks. This hybrid program will prepare the student to sit for the NHA Exam (National Healthcare Association), CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician). Training includes skill development in the performance of a variety of blood collection methods using proper techniques and universal precautions. Including vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfly needles and blood culture, specimen collection in adults, children, and infants. This program will also include an introduction to the health care industry, CPR training, and an extensive medical terminology component. Hybrid courses have both face-to-face and online requirements to successfully complete the course.

Please note: 40 hours of off-site Clinical will begin after classroom training. Ending dates will vary according to facility availability.

This hybrid program provides technical knowledge and training to become a Basic EMT. It prepares students to give efficient care to critically ill and injured at the scene and en route to a medical facility. The program is certified by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Successful completion makes students eligible to take the national certification examination. Some Saturday classes will be required. Hybrid courses have both face-to-face and online requirements to successfully complete the course. Scholarships are available to eligible participants. The American Heart Association course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag mask device, and oxygen), use of AED, and relief of FBAO in responsive and unresponsive victims.  This course is designed for health care providers who care for patients in a variety of settings, both inpatient and outpatient.  The book is included with tuition.
