SUMTER, SC — More than 100 scholarships from the Central Carolina Technical College Foundation are available for college students in Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter Counties for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Scholarship awards range from $500 to $2,500 with most in the $1,000 range. The CCTC Foundation scholarship program assists students with education-related costs such as tuition, fees, books and classroom supplies like toolkits.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, the CCTC foundation awarded 83 scholarships in the amount of $72,650 to deserving CCTC students.
Students can visit cctech.edu/foundation to create a profile and complete the online application. The scholarship application will be open through April 24, 2026. Only one application is needed to determine eligibility.
Most scholarships are awarded based on program of study, GPA, county of residence or need. The Foundation’s minimum requirement for each scholarship is a 2.0 GPA and the student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at CCTC.
Several Foundation scholarships are available to support students in various fields and communities. Some provide opportunities for students from specific counties, while others honor professionals in fields such as nursing. Additional scholarships are tailored for students pursuing programs in environmental studies or industrial technology. There are also general, undesignated scholarships available.
Misty Hatfield, vice president for Institutional Advancement, encourages all students to apply. “Our donors believe in the power of education to change lives. Because of their generosity, CCTC Foundation scholarships help students from all backgrounds pursue their goals—whether they’re starting college for the first time or returning to advance their careers.”
In addition to CCTC Foundation scholarships, the college also offers a multitude of options to help students pay tuition, fees and books, many of which mean zero out of pocket costs to the student. Criteria for these programs can be found on the CCTC website at cctech.edu.
