CCTC Massage Therapy grads have 100 percent pass rate

Central Carolina Technical College Massage Therapy grads have 100 percent pass rate on national exam for fifth consecutive year

SUMTER, SC — Central Carolina Technical College reports that 100 percent of 2016 graduates of the Massage Therapy Program have passed the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) on the first attempt.

The 2016 graduates’ 100 percent pass rate for the national examination on the first attempt is well above the national average of 63.6 percent for 2015, the most recent data available. This is the fifth consecutive year that Brent Jackson, Academic Program Manager for Massage Therapy, has produced a 100 percent pass rate.

“We congratulate the students whose hard work has paid off, “said Jackson. “This accomplishment would not be possible without the continued support of the faculty and advisory committee, and their focus on keeping the curriculum and facility up-to-date. We strive to provide the best learning environment, research and tools to help our students succeed.”

The MBLEx is governed by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB). The MBLEx is the only entry-level licensure examination for massage therapists.

CCTC’s Health Sciences Division offers an Associate Degree in Applied Science with a major in Nursing, and Diplomas in Medical Assisting and Surgical Technology, and certificates in Massage Therapy, Medical Record Coding and Pharmacy Technology. Health Sciences programs are designed to provide graduates with immediate employment in the healthcare industry or prepare graduates to transfer to articulating colleges.
