Campus Security shares his thoughts during Covid-19

Due to Covid-19, Central Carolina Technical College is currently closed to the public at least until the end of April. Essential employees are still working, mostly from their homes, but there are still a few essential employees that are reporting to work to make sure that the college is still operating successfully during this temporary shutdown. CCTC campus security guard Marvin Williams is one of those essential employees who is reporting to campus to make sure that the appropriate buildings are open for those who need to work on campus while also practicing responsible social distancing. “It’s quiet around here these days and when it’s not my day to be at work during this time, I’m at home. I have any empty feeling when I’m not here. I’m used to waking up every morning and coming to work to see everyone’s smiling faces on campus. I love my job and I enjoy coming to work every day to help keep our campus safe. I’ll be excited to see the students back on campus once this is all over,” says Williams.

CCTC Director of Security Emily Broadway says, “Marvin has an amazing dedication to the safety and security of our faculty, staff and students during these unprecedented times. Everyone has had to shift their roles and responsibilities and Marvin has been a key asset in ensuring that our faculty and staff are able to get what they need to work from their homes. When any personnel have come on campus, he has greeted them with a smile, asked them how they were doing during these uncertain times and helped them retrieve mission essential items. I simply could not have done it without him!”
