The Sumter community joined together on the morning of Monday, Jan. 15, for the 24th-annual Dream Walk, celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the life and legacy of King through speeches and song as well as a walk through Sumter. Hosted at USC Sumter, beginning presentations included speeches and musical performances from students at the three local schools sponsoring the event – USC Sumter, Central Carolina Technical College and Morris College – as well as a keynote address by the day’s grand marshal, Sumter Fire Department’s Lt. Selena Smith.
