Central Carolina Technical College Marketing and Communications Department Wins 7 National Advertising Awards
SUMTER, SC (06/12/2024) The Central Carolina Technical College Marketing and Communications department was recently named a winner in the 39th Annual Educational Advertising (EduAD) Awards competition. Since 2020, the department has won more than 30 national advertising awards, showcasing their dedication to excellence.
The Educational Advertising Awards is the largest, oldest and most respected educational advertising awards competition in the country. Judges for the EduAD Awards consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals. Entries were received from colleges, universities and secondary schools across the country.
The department received five gold awards for the following:
- Titan Bobblehead promotional item
- Sumter Living Magazine Ad
- Employee Fall Kickoff Training Event
- Current Students Retention Marketing Campaign
- Team Titan Employee Giving Campaign Marketing Materials
Gold awards were granted to more than 200 institutions, silver awards were awarded to more than 100 institutions and bronze awards were awarded to more than 70 institutions.

Judges for the EDMAwards consisted of a national panel of education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals.
Additionally, the department was also named a winner in the 2023 Collegiate Advertising Awards competition. The Collegiate Advertising Awards competition is an elite national program created to honor today’s most talented marketing professionals for outstanding excellence in all forms of advertising, marketing and promotion specific to higher education products and services. The Collegiate Advertising Awards allows marketing and advertising efforts to compete against similarly sized colleges, universities and other educational organizations from across the nation. A wide range of categories cover entries from branding, social media, recruiting and fund-raising to multi-media campaigns, educational fairs, blogs and more.
The department received two awards for the following:
- Bronze – Current Students Retention Marketing Campaign
- Silver – Titan Bobblehead promotional item
“We are thrilled to be recognized on a national level for our marketing efforts,” says Nicole Miles, CCTC’s director of Marketing and Communications. “Marketing plays a critical role in making sure potential students see CCTC as their college of choice. These awards are a testament to the hard work and creativity of our marketing team, as well as our commitment to innovation and excellence in all that we do.”
In addition to the team’s recent accomplishments, the department was also nominated for the A. Wade Martin Innovation Team of the Year Award. This award recognizes a team that works interdependently and innovatively to meet changing needs and make significant contributions to Central Carolina Technical College and the South Carolina Technical College System.
The marketing team’s members include graphic artist Winter Moore, media specialist Kendal Winge, web and content coordinator Kayla Bird and director Nicole Miles.
CCTC’s award-winning campaigns have not only elevated the college’s brand visibility but also solidified the Marketing and Communications department’s pivotal role in driving the college’s success and growth.
