SUMTER, SC (07/27/2026) Central Carolina Technical College has been reaffirmed for accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) through 2036.
Following a comprehensive review of the college’s operations, an onsite peer review committee issued no recommendations for improvement and found the college to be in compliance with SACSCOC standards. The reaffirmation reflects Central Carolina Technical College’s continued commitment to providing high-quality educational opportunities, supporting student success and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
“Receiving reaffirmation with no recommendations for improvement reflects the dedication of faculty and staff across the college,” said Dr. Jennifer Wilbanks, president of Central Carolina Technical College. “This achievement is the result of CCTC’s unwaivering commitment to institutional integrity, academic quality and student success. I am incredibly proud of what our college community has accomplished together.”
SACSCOC accreditation is a rigorous process that evaluates every aspect of an institution, including governance, academic programs, student support services, financial stability and institutional effectiveness. Reaffirmation assures students, employers and community partners that Central Carolina Technical College continues to meet nationally recognized standards of quality. Accreditation also allows eligible students to access federal financial aid and supports the continued recognition and transferability of the college’s academic credentials.
As part of the reaffirmation process, the college developed and implemented its Quality Enhancement Plan, Titan Up! Online Learning Unlocked, a long-term initiative focused on strengthening online learning and improving student success. The plan prepares students for success in online courses, equips faculty with resources to enhance online instruction and leverages technology to create more engaging learning experiences.
“While this milestone is worth celebrating, it also reinforces our responsibility to continue meeting the needs of our students and the communities we serve,” Wilbanks said. “We will continue strengthening our programs, embracing innovation and preparing students for success in an evolving workforce.”
