CCTC Alumni Spotlight: Ross Connor
Recent CCTC graduate Ross Connor was looking to make a career change to the environmental field. He heard that “CCTC had a great environmental program.”
During his time as a student at CCTC, he earned his Associate in Applied Science with a Major in Environmental Engineering Technology. He also earned his Water Treatment certificate, Wastewater Treatment certificate and a Class A Water Treatment license.
Currently, Connor is a Water Treatment Operator at the City of Sumter’s Water Department. He oversees the operation of Sumter’s six groundwater treatment facilities. He is the youngest operator in Sumter and one of the few who passed all of the incredibly difficult certification exams without failing at least once. His goal is to continue earning certifications specifically in the area of Biological Wastewater and Distribution. Connor says, “I want to continue to use the tools that CCTC gave me to further advance my career field.”
Connor would like to tell future Titans that, “Central Carolina is a wonderful place to start when looking to further your education. Whether it is for a vocational trade or preparation to transfer to a university, CCTC is a great option!”
