This year’s theme for Fall Kickoff is Titans Under Construction: Building success for the future! We’re getting the team together to kickoff another great academic year! For those who are new, Fall Kickoff is an event where faculty and staff come together for a time of training, fellowship, celebration and more.
This is a required event for all full-time faculty and staff unless approved by your Vice President. Work-appropriate jeans are allowed. Employees are encouraged to dress with the theme or wear their Titan gear!
On Thursday, October 10, all CCTC campuses will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for those at outreach campuses to attend this event. This information will also be posted on social media and the college website.

A Guide to Navigating FMLA and Leave Policies
In this session, we will explore the importance of FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), annual leave, sick leave, and paid parental leave. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how FMLA works in conjunction with sick leave and the key differences between various types of leave. We’ll provide essential reminders on how to accurately enter leave requests, explain why using the correct leave type is critical, and offer guidance on navigating leave without pay and utilizing the leave transfer pool. Get ready for a fun and fast-paced team-building adventure! In this exciting challenge, teams of 3-5 will compete to build the tallest free-standing structure in just 15 minutes. The twist? You’ll be working with unexpected, simple materials, and a crucial part of the challenge—the marshmallow—must sit proudly on top of your skyscraper. But watch the clock! When time’s up, all construction must stop. Creativity, teamwork, and quick thinking are key to winning, as teams race against the clock to rise above the rest. Who will tower over the competition?

She will be located in the downstairs Atrium of building M500. Be sure to pop in during a break or between breakout sessions to take advantage of this opportunity. *Note: If you plan to dress up with the event theme for Fall Kickoff and you want to get a headshot, be sure to bring your professional attire with you to quickly change into for your photo.

The CCTC Foundation will open the 2024 Employee Giving Campaign at this year’s Fall Kickoff event. There will be a sign up table with more information on ways to give.

Canned Food Drive
Every year, we challenge employees to bring a few non-perishable food items to stock our Student Nutritional Access Center (SNAC) pantry.
Items in high-demand:
- Rice (1 lb bags)
- Hamburger Helper & “Ready-to-go” meals
- Macaroni and Cheese
- Canned meat (chicken, tuna, salmon)
- Canned vegetables (diced tomatoes, green beans, carrots, corn, black beans, chickpeas)
- Canned fruit (peaches, pineapples, mandarin oranges, pears)
- Pasta and pasta sauces
- Breakfasty foods, like granola bars, cereal packs, pancake mix
- Hygiene items (lotion, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, tampons and pads)
- Household products (paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, dryer sheets)
