Scholarship to help cover tuition for qualifying students

Central Carolina Technical College has received funding through the SC Workforce and Industrial Needs Scholarship (SC WINS), which allows students, including those enrolled in dual enrollment courses, to earn college credit at little to no cost.

SC WINS is a statewide sector strategy technical college scholarship program designed to address workforce shortages in South Carolina. The scholarship supplements Lottery Tuition Assistance to help cover any tuition and mandatory fees left after applying all other scholarships or grants. Students will be eligible to receive the SC WINS scholarship if they meet one of the following criteria: Criteria one is that a student must be receiving a Lottery Tuition Assistance Program Scholarship for the current academic year and majoring in a critical workforce area as defined by the State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education. Criteria two is that a student must be receiving a Lottery Tuition Assistance Program Scholarship for the academic year and meet the USDA income eligibility guidelines for free and reduced-priced meals.

For the 2019-20 academic year, scholarship recipients will receive $50 per credit hour up to $600 total after applying all other scholarships or grants. The scholarship may cover the cost of tuition and mandatory fees. Students may also receive a allowance of up to $300 per year if a student is enrolled in a critical workforce major and at least one course in a critical workforce area during the semester.
