Works in a team environment within the Distance Learning Department and assists with implementing the College’s Instructional Design Standards (IDS) Project and to develop resources for online and virtual learning ensuring compliance with IDS and accessibility standards. Collaborates with the PBI ACE Grant Director and provides data and reports related to grant initiatives. Develops online learning materials and course components in collaboration with faculty. Creates digital resources and graphic design elements for instructional content, adhering to IDS specifications to support instruction and virtual course delivery. Uses video software to create, edit, and caption instructional videos. Uses basic HTML skills to create content in D2L Brightspace. Assists faculty with the adoption and integration of new technologies to support teaching. Assists Distance Learning Staff with the review of courses for compliance with Instructional Design Standards, particularly accessibility standards. Uses assistive technology to test accessibility. Reviews instructional materials, documents, videos, etc. to ensure accessibility of persons with a variety of disabilities. Assists faculty in creating instructional resources that are accessible and meet web accessibility standards. Serves as a D2L Brightspace secondary administrator. Serves as video platform administrator. Assists faculty with video production and captioning. Develops reference guides and instructions and troubleshoots and resolves issues. Trains faculty on video software, D2L Brightspace, instructional design methods, instructional software, accessibility, video creation and editing, and other instructional technologies. Develops instructional materials and “how to” guides for users.


Bachelor’s degree in media arts, photojournalism, information services, or education and three years entry-level work experience in a related field; or Associate’s degree in media arts, photojournalism, information services, or education and five years entry-level work experience in related field; or High School Diploma and seven years journey-level work experience in a related field.
