This position combines managerial responsibilities with in-depth, hands-on technical expertise.  Manages the college’s information technology applications unit and database administration functions.  Responsible for managing the development, third-party integration, operational support, and maintenance activities for a myriad of complex higher education computer systems and applications.  Job functions include supervising and evaluating applications team members, database administrators, and contract staff; planning and directing the design and development of administrative systems with input from internal and external stakeholders; performing business analysis and developing project plans; developing, testing, and addressing defects for new and existing systems; maintaining database systems; providing technical support and end-user training in administrative systems; and maintaining system integrity and compliance with industry and state standards and security.


Bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, computer science (information technology), mathematics, statistics, management information science or a related field and two (2) years’ experience in telecommunications, data processing and/or information technology.  Relevant experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.  Valid Driver’s license required.


Three (3) years’ experience with Oracle; ODBC Compliance; Ellucian Banner 9 module support for Student, Financial Aid, Finance, Human Resources, Banner Document Management, and Degree Works; PL/SQL; C; Java; Groovy; Linux; MS Windows, Argos; Evisions; and MS Office.  Demonstrated knowledge of database management systems, concepts, and design methodology; knowledge of database structures, operating systems, data security, system integrity, and monitoring activities; knowledge of computer system analysis and design techniques; and extensive knowledge of programming languages.  Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent time management abilities; ability to delegate responsibilities among team members effectively; and the ability establish positive working relationships with employees.


$71,592 – $85,000.
