The Information Processing Certificate program is designed for individuals who desire to develop skills as entry-level office support personnel in a dynamic office environment. Graduates will develop skills in keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, database management, web page design, business communication, and customer service. Students may apply for courses in the Information Processing Certificate toward the Associate Degree in Applied Science with a major in Administrative Office Technology.

The Information Processing Certificate Program requires at least a grade of “C” in all of the courses offered within the INPR curriculum for the grade to be counted toward graduation. Specifically, these include courses with the following prefixes: ACC, AOT, BUS, CPT and IST.

Graduates of this program are prepared for competitive and profitable careers in a variety of professional administrative and entrepreneurial positions world-wide.

Authorized certification course materials (MOS—Microsoft Office Specialist) are used in a variety of courses. Graduates are encouraged to obtain their MOS certification.

Developmental Courses

This program of study requires that all developmental courses be completed prior to graduation. These developmental courses may or may not be prerequisites to courses required in the program. Developmental courses are determined by placement tests taken at the time of admission into the College. The developmental courses are MAT 013 and RWR 032. These courses do not count for credit in any program of study.
