MTH 139 Anatomy and Physiology for Massage Therapy III

Course Description

This course is a continuation of Anatomy for Massage Therapy I and II and includes the nervous, endocrine and integumentary systems. Specific focus is on the effects of massage on the sympathetic/parasympathetic divisions and the effect of massage on the release of neurotransmitters and hormones. Prerequisites with a grade of “C” or higher: MTH, 120, MTH 121, MTH 136, and MTH 137. Corequisites: MTH 122, MTH 123, MTH 126, and MTH 141. This course is typically taught only in the spring and summer semesters.
