CCAE staff members recognized by state Office of Adult Education

Staff members of Clarendon County Adult Education were honored last week as we attended the Spring Training Institute and Celebrating Our Success luncheon, sponsored by the state Office of Adult Education, at Brookland Banquet and Conference Center in Columbia. Ms. Ann Cutter, transition specialist, and Ms. Ruth Maple, teacher, were both inducted into the Hall of Fame for their ten years of service to Adult Education. Our ESL program received the Civics Citizenship Award for the highest percentage of students achieving citizenship during the 2015-2016 school year. Director Lisa Justice and teacher Beverly Felder accepted the award from state director Mike King. During the training institute, Ms. Justice and Ms. Cutter were asked to present a session on the new Career Pathways initiative, sharing the best practices of our new student orientation process with other adult education programs. It was a busy but rewarding day!
