CLASS / SLOT:
Serves as the benefits subject matter expert and maintains excellent knowledge of benefits programs and plans design. Coordinate and manage the college’s comprehensive benefits programs, which includes, but is not limited to, health, dental, and life insurance, disability and long-term care programs; SC Retirement Systems (SCRS & ORP) service and disability retirement; SC Deferred Compensation Program. Manage the automated EPMS and leave systems to include any necessary training (for new employees and new supervisors as well as “refresher” training for current employees). Work with supervisors to ensure planning stages and performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion. Provide counsel and advice to employees and supervisors on EPMS and Leave System-related issues. Serves as HR Time Administrator; makes manual time/leave adjustments, administers the leave pool donations program; validates leave-related payouts. Coordinate and administer the Worker’s Compensation Program. Conduct exit interviews for terminating employees. Ensure all benefits are fully explained. Advise terminating employee regarding the continuation of health and dental insurance, COBRA, life insurance, retirement funds, and variety of state benefits. Counsel retiring employees on portability/conversion of life insurance and other state programs. Responsible for managing the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
A bachelor’s degree and experience in human resources management. Valid Driver’s license required.
