Assists TRIO Programs Director in the day-to-day management of the Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program. Recruits students for acceptance in the Veterans Upward Bound program. Interviews and assesses students’ educational, psychological, and financial needs. Develops Individualized Success Plans (ISPs) to assist participants in receiving needed academic assistance. Provides guidance to the participants in admissions, financial aid, academic counseling, career options, and college transfer opportunities. Manages an individual caseload. Conducts individual and group counseling sessions. Develops and conducts workshops that provide participants’ opportunities to learn success-oriented skills. Assist with college transfer orientation tours and cultural events for participants and monitors to determine effectiveness of events. Participates on College committees as requested. Participates in campus and community Veterans’ Associations activities. Participate in State TRIO (SC TRIO) & National TRIO Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (SAEOPP) Leadership programs. Completes required professional development. Maintains compliance with federal regulations governing the project. Ensures all participants meet federal guidelines for the program. Provides reports to Director to ensure participants are following the required guidelines of program.
Bachelor’s degree and experience in student services programs.
