Standards of Academic Progress for Credit Courses
A student’s academic progress at Central Carolina Technical College is determined by his or her current semester and cumulative grade point average.
|Good Standing||2.0 or above||2.0 or above||No more than 18|
|Warning||2.0 or above||Below 2.0||No more than 13*|
|Warning||Below 2.0||2.0 or above||No more than 13*|
|Probation||Below 2.0||Below 2.0||No more than 13*|
*Students on Warning/Probation/Suspension Status will be limited to no more than thirteen (13) hours enrollment at Early Registration for the following semester. After all grades have been submitted at the end of the semester, the student’s academic standing will be calculated based on his/her performance for the semester. If the student’s performance places him/her in Good Standing, the hours will be increased to a maximum of eighteen (18), which will place the student in full-time status.
Students on academic suspension will not be permitted to register for classes for the semester following suspension. A student who has pre-registered for classes will be dropped from all classes. A student who is required to withdraw from the College may re-enroll after one semester (fall semester, spring semester, summer semester) of suspension; however, the student must see an admissions counselor before re-enrollment. A student who is readmitted following suspension will be on suspension status and will not be permitted to register for more than seven (7) hours without written approval from the Academic Appeals Committee.
After readmission to the College, the returning student will remain on probation/warning until his or her current semester and cumulative GPAs place the student in Good Standing. The Registrar will notify students who have been placed on academic warning, probation or suspension. A student who wishes to appeal his or her suspension status due to extenuating circumstances is required to contact the Registrar.
Students may access grades and other academic information through the campus intranet.
