CCTC Foundation hosts 7th annual Golf Tournament

85 golfers registered to participate in the 7th Annual Central Carolina Technical College Foundation Golf Tournament held Friday, October 6 at Sunset Country Club. The generous support of approximately 88 sponsors helped raise money for projects that support CCTC including, but not limited to: student scholarships, professional development for faculty and staff and funding for instructional equipment and facilities. CCTC Foundation Director Meree McAlister says, “Central Carolina Technical College Foundation appreciates the generous support of our many sponsors. We are grateful for our partnerships that enable CCTC Foundation to provide support to Central Carolina and its students.”

The format for the tournament was a Four Person Captain’s Choice with lunch provided at 11:30 a.m. and a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Awards included a Hole-In-One Grand Prize, Longest Drive Challenge and Closest to the Pin Competition, in addition to prizes for the winning teams.

Following the tournament, an awards and recognition dinner was held. Over the past seven years, the CCTC Foundation Golf Tournament has raised approximately $185,000. “I am appreciative and proud that the Central Carolina Technical College Foundation Golf Tournament greatly exceeded expectations this year in both the generous support from our many sponsors and the level of fun and fellowship that was exhibited on a
picture-perfect day for golf on the first Friday in October in Sumter, South Carolina,” says CCTC President Dr. Michael Mikota.
