12 Steps to Admission


  • Entrance Requirements - Take the College's placement test, submit acceptable SAT or ACT scores, or provide acceptable college transcripts. The ASSET or COMPASS placement test may be taken at Central Carolina Technical College or another postsecondary institution. Unofficial transcripts can be mailed or faxed to the Office of Admissions.
  • Application - An admissions application can be downloaded from the College's website or you can apply online at http://www.cctech.edu/future/123.htm. Submit your completed application by mailing or faxing it to the Office of Admissions.
  • Official Transcripts - Request an official high school or GED transcript be sent to Admissions if you wish to be considered for all types of financial aid or if you are in a program in the Health Sciences division or Early Care and Education. If applicable, request official college transcripts to be sent to Student Records. Transcript request forms can be downloaded from the College's website.
  • Admission Interview - Meet with an admissions counselor to review test scores and/or college transcripts and discuss a program of study. This meeting can occur in person, by phone, or by email. If you require accommodations, please contact the Disability Services Counselor at 803-778-7871.
  • Financial Aid - Apply for financial aid online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ Financial assistance available includes grants, loans, scholarships, and South Carolina Lottery Tuition Assistance. If you have questions regarding your FAFSA, you may contact Financial Aid by phone or email. Supporting documentation may be faxed to Financial Aid, if necessary. Students who may be eligible for Veteran's Affairs benefits should go to Veterans' Affairs for more information.
  • Advisement and Registration - After you have been admitted to the College, you will receive a registration checklist with your myCCTC username and password and will meet with an Academic Advisement Specialist to help you plan your first semester class schedule and discuss program requirements. Through your myCCTC account, you will be able to access your student information, register for classes, and receive your Admissions Acceptance Letter.
  • New Student Orientation - Be sure to attend New Student Orientation to learn more about Student Services, your program of study, and how to access information in myCCTC.
  • Tuition Payment - Your tuition can be paid in person, online, by mail, or by phone using a credit card. If you are using financial aid, you should check your account summary in myCCTC to ensure that your tuition has been paid.
  • Book Purchase - Purchase your books in the Central Carolina Technical College Bookstore located in Bldg. M100 in the Student Center. The semester booklist can be viewed on the College's website. Student ID and Parking - If you need to visit the College's campus to access services such as the library, testing center, computer labs, etc. you will need a College ID. You will also need to register your vehicle. The Security Office is located in Round Building at the main campus and in Bldg. 100/ Room 100. Parking decals are also available at all outreach locations.
  • Classes Begin - Once you have completed the application, admission, and registration process it is time to attend classes! If you encounter any technical problems with your online course, contact User Support Services. If you encounter problems with your course material, contact your instructor or academic advisor. If you are not sure who your academic advisor is, please call Admissions.
  • Graduation - Once you have completed the coursework necessary for graduation, you must complete an online Program Completion Application.
