Q: What is VUB?
A: VUB is a program funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education designed to motivate and assist veterans in the development of academic and other requisite skills necessary for acceptance and success in a program of postsecondary education.

Q: What is the purpose of VUB?
A: The primary goal of the program is to increase the rate at which participants enroll in and complete postsecondary education programs.

Q: Who is eligible for the VUB program?
A: Veterans who have completed more than 180 days of active duty service, or were activated as a guard or reservist for more the 30 days after Sep 11, 2001, do not have a college degree, and meet basic eligibility requirements.
Q: How do I enroll in VUB?
A: Access the VUB website for enrollment steps or visit with VUB staff at Central Carolina Technical College, main campus in Sumter, building M500, room M583, or call for an appointment, 803-774-6702.

Q: Do I need to provide any documentation?
A: Yes. Along with the VUB application form, veterans must provide a copy of their DD214 member copy 4, proof of residency (such as drivers license), proof of income (prior year tax return).

Q: What kind of help can I get from the VUB program?
A: Eligible veterans receive supportive services such as; free tutoring, career planning, college prep courses, workshops, financial aid assistance, counseling services, veteran networking, college admission assistance, college transfer assistance, cultural trips and tours

Q: Can I get paid while in the VUB program?
A: Yes. Eligible veterans who meet participation requirements, qualify for a maximum monthly stipend of $40.00.
