Do you need assistance reaching your academic potential or finding information about Veteran resources? Stop by and meet the Veterans Upward Bound staff at CCTC’s Main Campus, Bldg 100, room M115C.

All resources are FREE to eligible Veterans seeking high school or post secondary educational assistance. If you are enrolled in another college, we can still assist with tutoring, networking, or other resources to help you stay on track.

To get started, stop by and fill out an application, and meet with one of our counselor’s. Just bring a copy of your DD214, to get started.

Did you know that CCTC offers all required classes to support your CCAF Degree? CCTC is offering English and Speech Classes for the upcoming Spring Semester, at the Shaw AFB Spratt Education Center.

ENG – 101 English Comp I – 5:00 to 8:00 PM Mon and Weds Jan 16 thru Mar 6
SPC – 205 Public Speaking – 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tues and Thurs Mar 8 thru May 9

Just Announced: New VA Education Benefits Application Website

If you’re a Servicemember, Veteran, or family member interested in education and training opportunities, you can apply for your VA Certificate of Eligibility (COE), check or manage your current benefit status, at this new VA website link;

The VA has replaced the outdated VONAPP system with an updated user interface to streamline applications and account accessibility.

CCTC and SCVRD Working Together!

Through a collaborative effort with South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation, VR counselors will continue to be available monthly, on-site at our Main Campus in Sumter, and at our Downtown Campus in Camden, to assist Students and Veterans, answer questions and provide information about VR benefits and supportive services.  To see if you qualify for assistance, stop by to meet with a VR counselor.

South Carolina National Guard College Assistance Program (SCNG CAP)

The SCNG College Assistance Program will pay 100% of college tuition and fees at state supported institutions up to $4,500 per year, with a cap of $18,000 per service-member. Only those identified as critical need and in good standing are eligible.  Visit this website for more information:

After the application is received, the service-member notifies the CCTC financial aid office of their eligibility, confirmation of eligibility is made with CHE and financial imbursement is made directly to the school by CHE. To determine eligibility, contact the Education Services Office at: 866-345-8400.
