Developmental Studies Standards of Progress
A student's academic progress at Central Carolina Technical College is determined by his/her current semester and cumulative grade point average.- If the student enters the College and requires Developmental Studies (DVS) classes, the student will be required to maintain satisfactory progress as measured by grades of XA, XB, or XC in the required courses.
- If the student's progress is unsatisfactory as measured by grades of XF, XWF, or W in 50 percent or more of his/her DVS classes, the student will be placed on warning.
- Any student on warning who fails to earn satisfactory grades in 50 percent or more of his/her DVS classes by end of the warning semester of work will be placed on probation.
- Any student who fails to earn satisfactory grades in 50 percent or more of his/her DVS classes at the end of the probationary semester of work will be suspended.
- Enrollment in developmental studies class number 031 and 032 shall be limited to a maximum of 30 hours. Exceptions will be granted only to an individual who meets the College's Standard of Progress and has the approval of the Vice-President for Academic and Student Affairs. All attempted hours of enrollment in classes numbering 031 and 032 shall be counted to include earned grades of W, XWF, and XF.
- Academic warning, academic probation and academic suspension are separate and independent of financial aid warning, probation, and suspension. Appeals for academic suspension must be submitted to the Registrar. Please contact the Director of Financial Aid if you have questions concerning Financial Aid warning, probation or suspension.
