Parking and Parking Permits Information

Motor vehicles used on College property must be registered at the Campus Security office located in room M300 of building M309 at the Sumter Main Campus and through special arrangements at the other campus locations. Vehicle registration must be repeated each academic year. The registrant must present a valid driver's license and state vehicle registration certificate, as well as a tuition payment receipt to register a vehicle. Students receive up to two parking decals at no cost. Additional decals are $5 each. The additional decal fees are non-refundable. These decals are valid for one academic year beginning in the fall semester. The Central Carolina parking decal must be clearly displayed on the left side of the rear bumper or rear window of an automobile for vehicle registration to be complete. The Central Carolina registrant of a vehicle is responsible for any parking violations incurred by the vehicle. Vehicles parked on college property without a current Central Carolina parking decal or parked in unauthorized areas are subject to being ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense. Parking decals are nontransferable from one vehicle to another. Each vehicle driven on campus must be registered with the Campus Security office.

Student parking is available on a first-come basis, and there is no assigned student parking. Students with a current Central Carolina parking decal (issued by Campus Security) may park in the areas designated for student parking. White lines identify student parking spaces: Students may not park in yellow lined spaces, which are reserved for staff and faculty, the handicapped or visitors. Over flow parking is available in a specific lot behind USC Sumter (see handout and map available at the Campus Security office for details.) Designated student parking areas are also provided at the college's outreach campus locations. Students parking in areas marked for staff, faculty, visitors, and handicapped will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense. Anyone - faculty, students, or visitors - without a handicapped decal will be ticketed if the vehicle is parked in the reserved handicapped spaces. Central Carolina is not responsible for damage or theft of a vehicle or the contents of the vehicle on college property.
