Natural Resources Management

Are you an outdoors person? Could a career that requires you to develop skills in managing wildlife, plants and soils be in your future? The Natural Resources Program enables our students to develop these skills by classroom and outdoor training in Biology, Forestry, Fisheries, and Horticulture.

Most classes are conducted at the Natural Resources Management Center at 735 W. Brewington Road, Sumter. This 105 acre outdoor laboratory includes agricultural fields, wooded natural areas, and ponds all of which are used for instructional purposes. Some courses required to complete this program are offered only during the day.

Career opportunities exist with private and public landowners, state and federal wildlife, fisheries, and forestry agencies, hunting and game preserves,  fish hatcheries, conservation agencies and organizations, local, state, and federal parks departments.
