Twenty-nine honors students inducted into Phi Theta Kappa
Twenty-nine Central Carolina Technical College students were inducted into the Beta Eta Pi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at the college on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of the two-year college.
Inducted were: Charisma Aguilar, Jean Angle, Bryan Anthony, Tommie Banks, Robin Boulware, Gerald Davis, Courtney Dickey, Jeremy Flynn, David Lynch, Catherine Finney, Jennifer Edwards, Arteresa Hairston, Christie Hooks, La”Toria Hough, Willodine James, Moneisha Junious, Robert Murphy, Christina Newton, Eric Pagan, Courtney Peebles, Barbara Ragin, Gloria Sanchez, Tamala Shannon, Carletta Smith, Alison Thompson, Raymond Villa-Ignacio, Cordia Williamson, Daniel Wilson, and Jessica Zielinski. Mark Neal, the Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Advisor at the college, presided over the meeting. Dr. Tim Hardee, President of Central Carolina, was the guest speaker.
Dr. Hardee, in his remarks, congratulated the new members for their hard work and dedication to their college careers, and encouraged them to continue life with those same passions throughout its course.
Phi Theta Kappa was chartered in 1929 and its mission is two-fold: to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students; and to provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.
