F.E. DuBose to host 6th Francis Marion Symposium
October 10 – 11, 2008, the Swamp Fox Mural Trail Society will present the 6th Francis Marion/Swamp Fox Symposium, entitled “Explore the Revolutionary War Southern Campaign, Francis Marion and his Contemporaries”.
The F.E. DuBose Campus of Central Carolina Technical College will host speakers presenting on various components of the Revolutionary War’s Southern campaign, the South Carolina militia and important figures in the Revolutionary War. There will also be a tour of the backcountry encompassing Old River Road, Half Way Swamp and Richardson Cemetery, an Artifacts exhibition held at Camp Woodie, book signings, portrayals and discussions.
The price of attending this symposium is $95 per individual or $165 per couple. The cost is for the entire weekend. The fees include all of the lectures, Friday evening reception with Hor d’oeuvers, Saturday snacks, lunch, and dinner theater. There are early registration discounts if you send in your check and registration form before September 21. Early bird costs are $85 per individual or $155 per couple.
