DANTES Testing
Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC) awards credit for college-level examinations that have been completed with satisfactory scores through the Armed Services. Official results must be requested by the student to be sent directly to the College’s Registrar by the issuing agency and must be on file in the student’s academic file in the Student Records Office before an evaluation will be made. DANTES exams are available through CCTC’s Main Campus Testing Center. Active duty military, their dependents, and the employees of Shaw Air Force Base (AFB) can also take the exams at the Shaw AFB Education Office Testing Center.
- To make an appointment for an exam in CCTC’s Testing Center, call (803) 774-3306. Exams are ordered to administer upon request. A $15 registration fee is paid to CCTC at time of registration and a $70 (effective 7/01/07) fee is paid to DSST per exam.
- If active duty military, a dependent, or employee of Shaw AFB, call the Shaw AFB Education Office Testing Center at (803) 895-1836 to make an appointment to take the exam.
- Active duty members will be required to complete an authorization form if using these tests for credit other than Community College of the Air Force.
To Receive Credit
- Have an official copy of the score report sent to the Student Records Office at CCTC.
- You must be currently enrolled in a CCTC program to receive credit.
- Notification of awarded credit can be viewed in your myCCTC account.
