Medical Assisting celebrates six perfect years

medical equipment Central Carolina Technical College's Health Sciences Division celebrated National Medical Assistants Week October 15-19 with another great year. For the sixth year in a row, 100% of the program's Medical Assisting graduates who took the exam passed the national certification examination offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants. Passage of the exam means the graduates become Certified Medical Assistants (CMA).

"We are very proud of the individuals in each of these classes, and we are certainly proud of the fact that for six years each and every one of our graduates who went on to take the exam has passed," said Laurie L. Harden, the college's Dean of Health Sciences.

Harden pointed out that during that same period of time, the national average pass rate has been in the range of 70%. "These are great numbers, but they are especially impressive when compared to the national averages. It is a testament to the hard work of our students, faculty and staff," she said.
